Choirs and Musical Ensembles

According to an article in Time magazine, group singing has been scientifically proven to lower stress, relieve anxiety, and elevate endorphins.  Other studies prove that singing decreases feelings of depression and loneliness, soothes your nerves and elevates your spirit.  Children who participate in choir programs do better in school both academically and socially.

Fortunately, here at Atonement, we have a great choir program where you can reap all of these benefits and more!  We serve the Atonement congregation by providing musical leadership for our worship.  Please consider joining an Atonement choir today!

Atonement Choir

The choir has long been one of the church's most treasured ministries, helping to lead worship through song, enrich the congregation's praise, and proclaim the gospel through music. Choral music has a unique way of expressing faith, offering comfort, inspiring hope, and drawing worshipers more deeply into God's presence. Whether singing an anthem, leading a hymn, or sharing special music during the church year, the choir plays an important role in the worship life of Atonement.

The Atonement Choir welcomes college-age adults and adults who enjoy singing and sharing their gifts in service to God. The choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30–9:00 p.m. and sings in worship weekly from September through May. No matter your musical background, you'll find a supportive community, meaningful fellowship, and the joy of making music together. If you are interested in joining the choir or would like more information, we would love to welcome you.

Atonement Praise Band

Music has the power to connect us with God in ways that words alone often cannot. Through contemporary songs, familiar favorites, and heartfelt praise, the Atonement Praise Band helps lead worship that is engaging, meaningful, and Spirit-filled. Music invites us to pray, reflect, celebrate, and experience God's presence together as a community.

The Atonement Praise Band welcomes youth and adults, instrumentalists and singers, who would like to share their musical gifts in worship. The group rehearses as needed, most often on Mondays or Thursdays from 6:15–7:30 p.m., and leads worship approximately five to six times each year. Whether you play an instrument, enjoy singing, or are looking for a new way to serve, there is a place for you in this ministry. To learn more about the Atonement Praise Band, contact Tom Yenser at 610-375-3512 or tyenser@atonementwyo.org.

Handbells

Handbells bring a unique beauty and richness to worship, adding a musical voice that is both uplifting and inspiring. Through intricate melodies, harmonies, and rhythms, handbell music helps lead the congregation in prayer and praise while offering a creative way to share God's gifts. Ringing handbells is a collaborative ministry that combines music, teamwork, and worship, creating something beautiful that no individual could accomplish alone.

The Atonement Handbell Choir welcomes older students and adults who would like to participate in this meaningful musical ministry. Whether you are an experienced musician or new to handbells, you are invited to explore the joy of ringing and serving in worship. The handbell choir regularly shares its music as part of the worship life of the congregation throughout the year. For more information, contact Tama McConnell, Director, at 484-794-8815.
