Children & Youth Faith Formation

At Atonement, we believe children and young people are not just the future of the church—they are an essential part of the church right now.

We are committed to creating a community where children and youth are known, valued, encouraged, and loved. Through Sunday School, youth activities, service opportunities, worship participation, and special events, young people are invited to grow in faith, build lasting relationships, and discover the gifts God has given them.

Faith formation is about more than learning Bible stories. It's about helping young people develop a faith that can sustain them through life's challenges, inspire them to serve others, and remind them that they are deeply loved by God. We want our children and youth to know that church is a place where they belong, where their questions are welcome, and where they can explore what it means to follow Jesus in today's world.

Confirmation Class

The confirmation ministry at Atonement is a two-year program that includes worship, learning, and serving, as well as forming a community built on respect, support, and love.  Students in the program are normally 7th and 8th graders or older, with 9th graders (or older) affirming their baptism (we often say “getting confirmed”!) on Reformation Sunday (this year it’s October 27).

Youth Group

Youth in grades 6–12 are invited to connect, grow, serve, and have fun together through Atonement’s youth group! We gather twice each month, creating space for young people to build friendships, explore faith, ask questions, and simply be themselves.

We meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 11:15 AM–12:15 PM alongside our Confirmation students, and on the 4th Sunday from 5:30–7:30 PM with REVIVE, a collaborative gathering with youth from other area congregations.

Whether you’ve been part of church your whole life or are just looking for a place to belong,
there’s a place for you here!
