Atonement Lutheran Church: High School Youth Sunday School

  Do you read the newspaper?
Do you watch the news on TV?
Where do you see God’s work?

World Hunger

Atonement’s High School Sunday School Class does not have a clever name.

Its focus is on questions of faith and what it means to live as a faithful, committed Christian.

That’s not clever either, but we need God and the world needs God.

Right now, we are looking at issues of hunger and poverty, using Taking Root: Hunger Causes, Hunger Hopes, a new ELCA World Hunger curriculum.
Taking Root

DO Justice, LOVE Kindness, WALK Humbly With GOD Micah 6:8

Poverty and hunger are not God’s ideal and as committed Christians we are called to strive for a more just world.

We will look at the many complex and inter-related reasons for hunger and at strategies that can end hunger.

Mostly, we will look for what we can DO to change the world.

“Hunger will not stop simply because people are told that it must end. Hunger will end when the human family changes the way it understands hunger and defines it as unacceptable and solvable.” The Rev. Stacy K. Johnson, author of 'Taking Root: Hunger Causes, Hunger Hopes'

We are looking for God’s work.

Get out of bed.  Make a difference.

Come search with us.
