Atonement Lutheran Church: Kindergarten - 6th Grade Sunday School

Our Children's Sunday School        
Sunday school classes are held 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. from September through May for children age 3* through Grade 6.  All children's classes are held on the lower level of the building where preschool classes are held throughout the week.  

Each Sunday the lesson focuses on a particular Bible story to help children grow in their understanding of Scripture and their relationship with God.  Classes are closely graded and led by team teachers dedicated to working with children and nurturing their faith.  Periodically throughout the year, the Children's Ministries Committee plans a children's Sunday school event for all ages to highlight a particular festival, explore the seasons of the church year, or help children develop skills in living their faith.

Whether a visitor or long-time member, all children are welcome to join us each week.

* Children must have celebrated their third birthday by October 31 in order to be included in the Sunday school class for this school year.    

Our Nursery
Parents have three options for their infants and small children during worship:

  • Worship together as a family.  We welcome these young children in worship.  Quiet activity bags and children's bulletins are available during worship for families to use as they desire. 
  • Place children in the nursery.  Nursery care is available in Preschool Room 4 (lower level) for children from infants through age 6.  Two paid attendants are on staff each Sunday morning with a third person added to help care for the larger number of children in nursery during the late worship service. 
  • Worship as a family in Room 104 (the Privacy Room).  Families who wish to worship together but prefer to do so in an environment somewhat separated from the entire congregation in the nave are encouraged to use Room 104, which was designed as an extension of our worship space.

During the Sunday school hour 9:45 - 10:45 a.m., parents who are either participating in or leading a Sunday school class and whose children are too young for Sunday school may also utilize the nursery.  The same nursery attendants on staff during worship are also present during the Sunday school hour.
